Amelia Shields, affectionately known as The Queen Host, is a gospel host and worship leader who brings faith, laughter, and more than 16 years of gospel hosting experience. Rooted in Tylertown, Mississippi, she is best described as funny but anointed.
From The Magee Family to a new season with Amelia and the Magee Sisters, known as AMS, her story is rooted in faith, family, and a heart for people.
With a microphone already in her hand as a group leader, hosting became a natural extension of her musical foundation and her heart for people.
One moment, she may be encouraging the room. The next, she’s asking someone to preach their Sunday school lesson for a free plate from the kitchen. Her humor creates connection, while her faith gives that connection purpose.
Her hosting journey includes events during Stellar Awards weekend, Golden Triangle Awards pre-shows, and gospel showcases. She has also hosted the anniversary celebration of Stellar Award-winning Lisa Knowles-Smith and The Brown Singers, where she had the pleasure of introducing Mary Mary, The Clark Sisters, and others. Along the way, she has received MC/Host of the Year honors.
Behind those moments are prayers for promoters and events, long travel days, and a commitment to keep showing up. Her children have witnessed that perseverance firsthand, watching their mother trust God through difficult seasons while continuing to care for her family and encourage others.
That musical legacy lives on through her three daughters and son, all of whom sing. Her son also plays drums.
For Amelia, hosting is another opportunity for God to use her, another chance to tell of His goodness and bring joy to someone’s heart. Her dream is to carry that purpose to all 50 states, one gathering at a time.
